The girls in my oil painting class on our field trip to Hong Cun:

I stood out everywhere I went, never found out why...
I've been missing China, I hope to go back some day.

Pi Day!
I'm back from China! (I've been back for three months, crazy how time flies).
I revamped the layout, yet again, and this time I'm pretty happy with it.

My four month study abroad was the first time I've been out of the country, and one of my favorite parts was keeping a journal about my "culture shocks" and experiences (it's mostly about eating Chinese food):  my journal

I'm off to study for four months in Xi'an, China!

So... I'm not sure if I will be updating this site much during my study abroad. I am going to keep a travel blog, but am unsure which website I'll be using to do that. Western painting will be my focus, so either way I should have a lot of art to show. And pictures. :)

Checked out the MOMA. Starry Starry Night...

AND I darkened the font. Can you read it now? :)

Uploaded spiffy new pages! (you probably can't tell, but I can, and it makes me happy).

Just got back from a weekend in Chicago. Awesome place! :) I'm just geeking around with the layout a bit.

Two new Drawings added: "Grandpa" and a charcoal portrait from drawing class. "Grandpa" is my grandpa from the good old New Orleans. I ran out of time, otherwise I would have re-drawn it and also drawn my grandma's portrait. The charcoal portrait is actually from a drawing class over a year ago, but I was never able to get a picture of it because it was in the student show and conveniently covered in a lovely shiny acetate. Mmm acetate!

Revamped the layout. No more wonky fish! On the homepage at least.

New Illustration added: "Ray." This was a mixed media piece from my illustration methods class, ran by  Dave Groff . Great class. For this assignment we had to take photo reference of ourselves and then randomly pick one of our classmate's photos...  Ray  was my lucky ref.
